During this Camp all councillors discussed the direction of the Student Council in the new year (2008) and settled on various administrative matters, including the workplan and proposals to come. 2008 will be a busy year and we are committed to giving our very best. The planning has started, and it won't stop till we finish it. That is our promise to you. Teachers' Day

Teachers' Day is over, and we saw our ex-principal in our very own school uniform! It was not only a Teachers' Day, but also a day we saw Prof. Lai leave the school. The event, held at the Jurong Bird Park was a huge success, and we thank the Bird Park for allowing us to use their amphitheatre for the event. We also thank all the staff at the Bird Park and those who helped us in one way or another.

That's our Student Council!! This was taken before the event started.

This is Ying Zhen, our Vice-President, and Prof. Lai, our Principal. He's in our school uniform!!

Mr. Ho, the Taichi Master, performing for us. (:

All the female teachers who won the staff awards. Well well, where did all the guys go?

Our Student Council again, with Prof. Lai and the the gift we gave to him. The penguin is our school mascot. All the other birds in the world fly in the skies or crawl on the ground, yet the penguin is the unique one, the only one which dives deep into the water. Our school is truly unique.

The Student Council also wishes to sincerely thank Prof. Lai for not only being the Principal, but also our mentor, our teacher, our guide. We thank Prof. Lai for his work in our school, and bringing our school to such great heights! We thank Prof. Lai for his humble and caring, passionate and lively personality. We thank Prof. Lai for all that he has done. We appreciate it a lot, sir. We will miss you and sincerely hope that we will see you around more often. All the best for your research!!

For this year's National Day Parade, the Student Council has played a more active role!! The celebrations this year is marked by a Sports Meet, and like the previous years, all the houses put up a really strong fight for the House Cup.

The NDP this year was started off with a march, consisting of the Student Leaders and the Uniform Groups. This is the first year that the school decided to have a march on such an occasion. Under the guidance of the teachers-in-charge, the NCCs and the scouts, the student leader contingent was a sounding success. Thanks to those who have dutifully trained the contingent!! (On this note, we hope that those who were part of the contingent aren't too sunburnt.) The Student Council also thanks all the other leadership bodies who were present for the march, and sincerely hopes that the bonds and cooperation shared will help move our school to greater heights. The success of the school is not dependent on one person, one teacher or one council, but on this school working as one united body. Great job everyone!

The Council has also set up a small stall selling H2O and doughnuts in the concourse. The sale was a success and we thank all the students who supported us in this endeavour. We hope that we have provided you with a valuable service. Feedback to the Student Council on this matter is much appreciated and it can be done through the Resonance website or the feedback forms. NUS High School's Student Council Elections are here again. Our school has been running for the third year this year. There is a new Student Council being elected every year and this year is no different.

This year's theme is Pb (Lead), and it was chosen to symbolize lead being not only a basic element of nature, but also a basic element of NUS High School. Hence, we hope that Pb would naturally bring out the true essence of NUS High School leadership. We want to recruit capable students who exhibit the leadership potential to join the NUS High School Student Council to serve the student body!!
