TOUCH Young Arrows is an organization that cares for needy and disadvantaged children aged between seven and twelve. This year is the second year the Student Council is co-organizing their annual Sports Meet. We have planned three tele-matches in total. These tele-matches are prepared for specific age groups such as: P1-3 and P4-6 as well as the mass game for everyone.
There were up to 300 children and parents, and they were really energetic and enthusiastic! Even though this caused much disorganization, but the volunteers and councillors managed to complete the tele-matches successfully. There was a slight drizzle in the middle of the Sports Meet causing a short delay, however as the clouds cleared and the sun shone brightly in the sky, the children were also brightened up and could not wait to carry on with the races!
As compared to last year’s Sports Meet, this year was much more organized and successful! The demonstrations and facilitating of the games were well done and also, the rest of the organizing committee from TYA commended on our volunteers’ efforts in carrying out the tele-matches.
This year, we managed to get more interested students (across many levels) to help out and be involved in this meaningful project. Through the feedback and comments from the students, we realised that many students are actually interested in these projects organized by the Student Council. The volunteers were very enthusiastic and supportive throughout the entire Sports meet! The Student Council would like to thank them for helping and would hope to have more opportunities working with the student body.
